Life Lessons

Although my blog was nominated for best SUPER HOMESCHOOLER in the Homeschool Blog Awards, I didn’t feel very super today! In fact, we didn’t get much done at all. Life intervened.

I am committed to doing an excellent job teaching my children. And we’ll be back at it tomorrow. Today, however, was all about life lessons.

I didn’t get to check much off my to-do list, and I’ll have to write this day off as a wash on my school calendar. But we all grew in grace, and our love for one another increased. We served someone in crisis, and our hearts were encouraged by God’s Word. My four sons were a true consolation and help to me today, and their love for the Lord–and for me–was made evident in so many little ways.

I’m heading to bed, feeling weary but content. Even though we didn’t get much done, I got to see some of the fruit of my daily labors. What a harvest it is going to be!

“Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.” Psalm 127: 3-5

  1. It is a blessing to see the fruit in our children’s lives.

Our classroom is life and what a joy when we can have a lesson that is not on the page!

  2. oh, but “much” is measured by the work of the heart, not the hands, in many cases.
