Update #4 on our son

Our son is doing better today. He hasn’t had a fever or stomach ills since yesterday and his energy is a little better. We were sent back to the hospital today for X-rays, as he continues to have pain in his head, neck, ears and teeth. The doctor was concerned that he may have a sinus infection on top of everything else.

Other tests continue to come back negative. We’re still awaiting some results, but we are beginning to wonder if we will ever know what he had. It would be great to get a diagnosis so that he could be treated for something, but at least he is starting to feel a little better.

For a look at how the Lord has used this trial in our lives, please read today’s post on my Counter-Cultural Mom blog.

Many of my new readers probably don’t realize that we faced a similar trial in June when our 8 year old son endured a lengthy hospitalization for a mystery illness, which eventually was diagnosed as an internal abscess and MRSA staph infection. While he was in the hospital (and I was there caring for him), all of the other children and I were diagnosed with strep throat.

The Lord ministered powerfully to us during those days and we continue to draw strength and encouragement from the same Source Who showed Himself so powerful then.

Here are some posts I wrote back in June about how a Christian faces suffering.
