Yes, this is one of my favorite pictures. It is a reproduction of Mother and Child by by Gari Melchers. I think the original was painted in 1904…Melchers has more than one “mother and child” painting. Reproductions of this particular painting abound, according to what I’ve read online…I think my MIL got this one at a garage sale. I hope this information leads you to a source where you can find a print of it!

When I saw the photo on your blog, I actually gasped! I have been looking for that painting since I saw a photo of it in a magazine years ago. The woman looks exactly like my mom and I’d really like to have a print of it. I can’t find it anywhere (it doesn’t help that I don’t know the name/artist) Do you know the name of the painting and the artist? Thank you for your help!

We did a lower grammar/preschool version but it was so much fun. We all had fun and made great memories. I agree that I’m sure this will be one of the highlights of the year.

But the real reason I came over is to tell you that I nominated CC School for Best HS Methods (Classical) and MAS for Best Cur/Business in the HSBA.
